WHO ARE THE LADIES BEHIND OUR PINK GENE?

Bridgette Delahoussaye is a mother of five and the grandmother of eight. She has been married for 39 years to her soulmate, Dwayne. She is a 2nd grade teacher, who lost her parents at a very early age and credits her faith to her positive mindset. After discovering she carried the BRCA2 gene, she had a preventive double mastectomy and hysterectomy.

Jennifer Kidd is a  wife and mother. She has taught high school English/Social Studies since 2001. In 2016, she had a preventive double mastectomy to help beat the odds of her BRCA2 gene. She received word that the implants used in her reconstruction have been recalled by the FDA. She is now dealing with the choices of when to replace the implants (at her own expense) and when to do a complete hysterectomy.

Cae'ly Romero is a former high school Public Speaking/Drama/English Teacher in New Iberia, Louisiana. She is the mother of two children and has been married to her high school sweetheart since 2013. Cae'ly is a two-time Cancer Survivor (breast and thyroid) and is a BRCA2 carrier. Along with her sister and mother, the three own and operate TDR Business Solutions, LLC.

Carly Tajmir was a business owner, who married to her amazing husband Michael. He currently lives in north Florida with their two kiddos, Emersyn and Pierce. She was originally from South Louisiana, which always held a special place in her heart. She was diagnosed with Stage 3C breast cancer in March 2019 and has undergone 16 rounds of chemo (12 of Taxol and 6 of ACDC), a double mastectomy, a complete lymphonodectomy, 25 rounds of radiation treatments, a total hysterectomy and recently completed 6 months of an oral chemo called Xeloda. In June of 2023, her cancer came back as Stage 4. Carly fought with grace and heart for the next 3 years while continuing to run marathons, care for her family, and even grow multiple businesses. She passed away after her long battle on July 25, 2026 surrounded by loved ones and has left behind a legacy of love, passion, and strength. She has inspired countless acts of kindness in both her New Iberia and Flagler Communities.
